Doc Holliday Wins Oklahoma Shootout (January 06, 2016 10:20:25 AM)

Exclusive Genetics Bull Conquers Open Field

Much like his legendary namesake, the young bull Doc Holliday (EG4150) "earned his spurs” in a prominent "shootout.”

Competing for the first time in his career, Doc Holliday wowed the crowd and judges, earning 90.20 points and capturing the 2015 Oklahoma Shootout championship.  The title also won the owners of Doc Holliday—Don McKenzie, Paul Novak, Conway Reimer, and Bob Whisnant—a check for $100,000, less than one month after purchasing him through the

ALL IN Player’s Championship Draft.

The event occurred on November 14 at the Sycamore Springs Ranch in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, and featured bulls from Exclusive Genetics and other top breeders and trainers from around the nation.  Each year, Exclusive Genetics hosts the Shootout as the nation’s premier pre-futurity event for bulls to begin their bucking careers.

The 68-bull field was extremely talented, headlined by several from the D&H Cattle Company.  Despite the tough competition, a bull bred by, and purchased from, Exclusive Genetics won the elite event for the second consecutive year, as McKenzie successfully defended his 2014 crown won by Mud Dobber (EG3451).

Doc Holliday will now prepare for the 2016 Bucking Bull Games and ALL IN Player’s Championship season, during which he will compete with other EG– and ALL IN-certified bulls for more than $1.7 million in prize money.  The ALL IN Player’s Championship replaces the ABBI’s Backseat Buckers program with the top priorities of providing owners with the highest-caliber bucking bulls and the opportunity to compete for the highest futurity payouts in the nation.

"From the inception of the ALL IN program, we have been very clear about what we want to accomplish,” said Billy Jaynes, CEO of Exclusive Genetics.  "The owners in this program are going to have the best bulls in the country, and they are going to win lots of money.  Once again, Doc Holliday showed that EG bulls can compete at the highest levels.”

After purchasing Doc Holliday in October, his ownership group needed to wait just 23 days before claiming their six-figure payday.  "We knew that we had drafted a good bull from EG,” said Reimer.  "You always want to be a champion, but to win such a prominent event three weeks [after purchasing him] is more than we could dare hope for.”

Exclusive Genetics manages the Bucking Bull Games and ABBI ALL IN Player’s Championship (formerly the Backseat Buckers) futurity circuits.  Through these programs, Exclusive Genetics offers fans of the nation’s fastest-growing sport the opportunity to own a bull and experience the Thrill of a Lifetime!
